The Gables Waterway Towers Condo is located in the “City Beautiful” of Coral Gables. Originally built as an apartment building in 1969, Gables Waterway Towers converted to condos in 1980.

The property is surrounded by palm trees and is meticulously maintained. Its surrounding area is known as a pedestrian-friendly destination, few minutes from the Miami International Airport and Downtown Miami.

Solution

A large fire in one of the units caused severe fire, smoke, and residual water damage.

Due to the size and level of impact of this disaster, WRG mobilized several technicians with 320 air movers, 120 dehumidifiers, 35 air scrubbers, and 35 generators to the site to mitigate damages as quickly as possible. In the areas where we could not effectively use water extractors, we situated large trash cans and shoveled out debris. The unit where the fire originated was completely gutted.

After the initial clean-up, we situated equipment accordingly to dry out the affected areas. We also dispatched a dedicated cleaning crew to remove the soot from every surface with specialized chemicals and sponges. The team also utilized air scrubbers with carbon filters and removed carpet from various floors in the building to eliminate odor.

Mitigation was competed in 30 days. WRG worked closely with the insurance company providing detailed documentation about each unit and all the affected areas for speedy claim processing.
